When you sit down to write your bridal shower thank you notes, make sure you have everything you need to get the job done well. Below you’ll find a few great tips for writing your bridal shower thank you notes:

  • Pick a quiet area to write and make sure you have the gift list and envelopes from the maid of honor. Before you begin writing, it may be helpful to jot down a few notes on each gift – what you’re using it for, if it was on your registry, what you like about it, etc.
  • Following a general format for each thank you note will help you get through them quickly. However, make sure they include personal touches. Example: “Dear Stacy, Thank you so much for traveling all that way to attend my bridal shower! Jim and I are loving the serving platter you gave us – we’ve already used it twice! We will be sure to use it the next time you visit…hopefully soon?? Thanks for being a part of my special day!”
    • Usually there will be two types of people in certain situations – those that couldn’t attend and sent a gift and those that attended and brought a gift. If your invitee wasn’t able to attend, make note of how everyone missed her (or him) at the shower, and if she was able to come, make sure she knows how much her (or his) presence was appreciated.

  • Most bridal showers still have only women in attendance. However, for “Jack and Jill” showers, address the note to both parties and sign it from you and your spouse-to-be
  • Mail your bridal shower thank you notes out within 2-3 weeks after your bridal shower. If you forget or don’t have time before your wedding, be sure to send them out as quickly as possible when you return from your honeymoon. Late is always better than never when it comes to sending out thank you notes, and nobody wants to be called an ungrateful bride!
